Interview

  • What are your hobbies? What do you like to do in your spare time?
It’s hard for me to consider things as hobbies, honestly. “Spare time” has never made much sense to me, because there is always something to address, fix, solve, evaluate, always someone to catch up with, get to know, fall in love with, adventure with, heal with. Time is the ultimate non-renewable resource, and I don’t take a single second for granted. I use my time wisely, to create art, music, writing, food, relationships—and to tend to my needs, by resting, communicating, cleaning, stretching, studying, and more. Whatever time I can take for me, is the most decadent of luxury items, and I like to savor every moment.
  • What makes you stand out from the crowd?
I just have an innate, ineffable quality about me that catches peoples’ attention. My humor, my depth, & my ability to move between a range of human emotions and understand a vast range of experiences and perspectives, leads me to shine. Wherever I go, people notice me, and when I enter any given space, I radiate an undeniable presence.
  • How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or you are more of a homebody?
I love travel. It’s how I learn the most about myself and others. It runs in my blood. I prefer a healthy mix of downtime and movement. The only way to integrate lessons and understanding gained on the go is to have periods of stillness and rest, and I love, love, love my homebase. My home is truly my sanctuary, but the nice thing about that is, my home can kind of exist wherever I establish the idea or feeling of home.
  • Name 5 things that you can’t live without.
    1. Music
    2. Creative outlets
    3. Travel
    4. Strong, lasting bonds
    5. Astrology
  • What kind of diet and fitness regiment do you follow?
I have some largely invisible disabilities that impact my life, including severe allergies to common food items, so I maintain a pretty strict diet that can sound complicated, but not as much as it seems at first. As for fitness, I like to stay active as a form of preventive maintenance, but I prefer to engage in low-impact activities over outright, strenuous exercise: long walks & hiking, rock climbing, skateboarding, swimming, certain styles of yoga — those kinds of things.
  • Tell us what you consider to be your greatest life experience.
This life, period, is the greatest experience! It’s impossible to choose, and there’s so much I have yet to uncover and achieve, to learn and receive. What a grand mystery it is to be conscious, to share ourselves, to explore alongside one another, to be curious about difference and newness, and to grow together. What a fucking gift! No singular experience within the totality of my life’s fluctuations, setbacks, and surprises, bears a greater meaning than another when isolated from the context of my entire existence. It’s the collection, the web, the intermingling, which stands out as noteworthy.
